PhD Student position (m/f/d) - Institute for Molecular and Clinical Immunology

Third-party funding

The INSTITUTE FOR MOLECULAR AND CLINICAL IMMUNOLOGY, OTTO-VON-GUERICKE UNIVERSITY MAGDEBURG,

Research Group IMMUNREGULATION, Prof. Dr. Anne Dudeck,

offers a

PhD Student position

E13, 65%

initially limited to 3 years

Our reserach focus:

is the in vivo investigation of the functional relevance of mast cells in innate and adaptive immune responses, as well as in acute and chronic inflammatory processes. We investigate the intercellular communication of mast cells with tissue-resident immune cells (such as dendritic cells and macrophages) and non-immune cells (endothelium and epithelium), as well as the impact of mast cells on the recruitment of effector immune cells (such as neutrophil granulocytes and T cells). Of particular interest are mast cell functions in the regulation of barrier integrity and inter-organ communication. To this end, we combine high-end microscopy techniques (e.g. intravital 2-photon microscopy, lightsheet microscopy) with molecular biology, cell biology and immunology methods, and omics technologies.
