In public discourse, phrases like “He’s crazy!” are often used to react to dissenting opinions or unusual behavior. But where exactly does the line lie between mental health and psychiatric illness in the medical sense? Can such phenomena be explained neurobiologically? Can they be treated? And how do they relate to our social discourse?
