Current

Magdeburg University Hospital is currently developing PPI initiatives to systematically involve patients in the design of clinical research.

What is PPI?

Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) refers to the active involvement of patients and the public in all phases of research in order to incorporate their experiences, needs, and perspectives, thereby improving the relevance, quality, and feasibility of scientific findings.

Medical Research Advisory Board

The Medical Research Advisory Board will advise researchers on the planning and conduct of clinical research. The goal is to design studies that are patient-relevant, understandable, and practical. The Advisory Board will provide support in the development of study designs, procedures, patient information, and the clear presentation of results.
The Advisory Board will serve exclusively in an advisory capacity and does not replace the decision-making authority of the sponsor, investigators, ethics committee, or regulatory authorities. Membership on the advisory board does not constitute participation in a study

Consultation on PPI measures at UMMD

At the same time, a PPI advisory service is being established to support researchers in the systematic involvement of patients in their research. The goal is to provide methodological and organizational support for PPI initiatives.
