03.11.2025 -

The Faculty of Medicine at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg has established a commission for animal experimentation. The aim of this commission is to strengthen animal experimentation in accordance with the responsible treatment of laboratory animals and the 3Rs, to standardize processes, and to promote exchange amongn researchers, animal welfare officers, and authorities.

The commission serves as a central point of contact for inquiries relating to animal experimentation. It advises scientists, accepts suggestions and proposals for improvement, and offers the opportunity to report any grievances confidentially. In addition, the commission develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) to standardize processes in animal experimentation and ensure the highest quality and animal welfare standards.
