Weighing 3,225 grams and measuring 53 centimeters, Antonia got off to a healthy start in the new year and made the beginning of the year a very special moment for her family.
The University Women's Hospital in Magdeburg congratulates the happy mother, father, and entire family from the bottom of its heart and wishes Antonia a wonderful start in life—accompanied by health, love, and many happy moments.

The University Medical Center Magdeburg would like to express its sincere thanks for the trusting cooperation with the surrounding clinics – from Aschersleben to the Harz region, Magdeburg, and Burg to the clinics in the Altmark region and, in some cases, also in Lower Saxony.
Thanks to this close cooperation, the specialized transport service was used a total of 54 times last year, enabling our center to give newborns, some of whom were seriously ill, the best possible start in life. Thirty-five children from clinics in Magdeburg and Burg were cared for, as well as another 10 children from Lower Saxony and the Altmark region.
In addition, the obstetrics department at the University Women's Hospital continues to be very successful in preventing extreme premature births. In cases of admissions in very early weeks of pregnancy – i.e., under 29 + 0 weeks of pregnancy, for which, according to the Joint Federal Committee (G-BA), care in a Level 1 center is generally provided – it is often possible to gain valuable weeks of fetal maturation in the womb, even in the presence of risks such as premature labor, bleeding, or premature rupture of the membranes.
A look back at 2025 shows that a total of 993 children were born at the University Women's Hospital in Magdeburg, spread across 982 births. These included 503 boys, 490 girls, and 22 sets of twins.
Special thanks go to all our colleagues at the University Women's Hospital and the University Children's Hospital who made these special moments possible!
