Colorful, loud, and powerful
On April 14, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., amateur artist Manuela Sasse-Schwarz cordially invites the public to the opening reception of her exhibition at the Central Medical Library at Magdeburg University Hospital (Leipziger Straße 44, Building 41). The opening ceremony will feature musical accompaniment by cellist Claudia Micheel, offering an atmospheric introduction to this vibrant exhibition.
“Colorful, loud, and powerful”—that’s how Sasse-Schwarz describes her abstract acrylic pouring works. Her pieces are characterized by bold colors, dynamic textures, and surprising compositions. Each painting emerges from the interplay of deliberate technique and random effects, making it a unique work of art.
The exhibition is open daily from April 14 to July 22, 2026, during the opening hours of the Medical Central Library (Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.).
Manuela Sasse-Schwarz discovered the art form of acrylic pouring while seeking a balance to her work as a freelance social worker. She was particularly drawn to the accessibility of this technique: it requires little space, no prior experience is necessary, and the material costs remain manageable at first. In acrylic pouring, liquid acrylic paints are poured onto a canvas. By moving and tilting the canvas, as well as using different pouring techniques and additives such as silicone oil, unique, abstract compositions are created—there are virtually no limits to creative expression. Now that she has retired, Sasse-Schwarz is devoting herself fully to her artistic work.
